“Here’s what is important to understand: there are only two ways of living. You are either confessing that you were created by God to be dependent on his wisdom, power, and grace, or you are believing that you have within yourself everything you need to live well on your own. You are either doing everything you can to deepen your faith in yourself or you are preaching to yourself a gospel of personal need and divine provision. —Paul Tripp from Come Let Us Adore Him surfaced by Readwise

As you use Logos, you will open and close many panels in the main application workspace. You’ll probably want to use certain panels in a particular arrangement regularly. For example, you may want to have your preferred Bible, a commentary, and a Passage Guide open together, with link sets connecting them so they scroll synchronously. Opening and linking each panel each time you want to use this common configuration would be tedious.
Layouts allow you to permanently save a current or previous snapshot of the Logos workspace to access at a later time. Use this to set up your preferred workspace, with all the resources and tools you want to access quickly for reading a particular book or studying a specific topic. —Source

Prioritizing resources is one of the most impactful customizations you can make inside Logos. It allows you to access your preferred books first in different areas of Logos (e.g. Top Bibles, Guides, pop-up menus within books, lookups, etc).
For example:
Logos prioritization is based on references or indices as opposed to page numbers. Therefore, you’ll get the most benefit by prioritizing books that are organized by headings other than page numbers (such as Bible reference, word/topic entry, devotional date, etc.).
A helpful way to think about this is to ask yourself, “How would I look up information in this book?” You typically look up information in dictionaries by word or in commentaries by Bible reference, not by page number. Prioritizing books works best with reference works like Bibles, dictionaries, and commentaries. It is not intended to work with books like systematic theologies. —Source

]]>It’s the very thing that Jen Wilkin lays out in this chapel message given at DTS. Citing some our significant current realities around discipleship, theological formation, Bible literacy, and popular ministry philosophy, Jen calls churches and ministers to own the great commission with a larger vision for Biblical discipleship and resolve to teach the scriptures.
As demonstrated by the State of Theology report, Biblical and theological literacy in the local church has been on a steep decline. We need robust discipleship and active learning environments in our churches, yet our ministry philosophy often places too great of a value on community at the expense of learning. The Church needs to shift its approach to discipleship by actively teaching, equipping, and empowering believers to study the Bible for themselves and receive foundational theological formation.
We need to raise the bar. We need to bridge the expert amateur divide. We need to give our people more Bible, not less. We need a compelling vision for making disciples and following Jesus in all of life for all of life.
This is a matter of great importance and urgency to me.

You’re here to find a discount and save money on Logos Bible Software Base Packages and resources. Maybe you are a student, pastor, missionary, or someone looking for a Logos coupon code. I have good news: There are several ways to save money on Logos.
In this post, I’m going to share the seven best tips to get a discount on your Logos base package and resources.
I am a Logos affiliate and proud of it. And this is a legitimate discount.
Logos has been an invaluable tool in my ministry, seminary studies, sermon prep, and personal growth. I love telling others about why it’s worth the investment and how to get started.
In return for sending readers from my website to Logos, I get a small commission at no cost to you and you receive a valuable discount!
My partner link will get you a 10-30% discount on your Logos library (depending on the time of year) and five free books as well!
The best way to get the resources you want at a discount is to find them in Logos base packages.
What is a base package? Logos features + deep discounted resources. That’s it.
Some people avoid Logos base packages, but that’s a mistake. While base packages may contain resources you do not foresee using, they also include resources you want at a steep discount. You can buy Logos resources a la carte, but you will almost certainly overspend.
If nothing else, you pay for the resources you want and get hundreds of others thrown in at little or no extra cost.
If you want direction and help picking out a base package, read my Logos Buyer’s Guide.
If you’re a seminary student, sign up for the Logos Academic Discount! This student discount will get you 30% off of base packages and up to 50% off of essential academic resources.
Check this out: If I wanted to buy the Dictionary of Classical Hebrew it would cost me $339.99, but if I buy the Logos Academic Premium base package I can get it and dozens of other resources thrown in for $108.53. 🤯
This is the glory of Logos base packages. If there are specific resources you want, check on the resource page to see if they’re included in any Logos base packages. This is the best way to get your resource, sometimes cheaper than its list price on its own and get more resources thrown in for cheap (or free)!
Speaking of resources, if you are looking for recommendations, I have written about the six most important categories to prioritize and suggest 50+ resources to build out your Logos library here.
My partner discount applies to Logos payment plans as well. If the upfront cost is too much, Logos will allow you to spread out payments on any order over $100 for 2 to 24 months depending on the order size.

]]>In Top Gun: Maverick there is a repeated mantra: It’s not the plane, it’s the pilot.
Logos is an incredible tool for learning, Bible study, and ministry. Yet, Logos is only as good as the resources inside of it. It’s not Logos, it’s the resources.
If you want the best commentaries and dictionaries to appear in your Logos searches, they need to be in your libary.
One of the strengths of Logos is its vast catalog. When I began building my library, I wanted someone to tell me which resources were most helpful to them in their ministry, sermon prep, and personal Bible study. This is where I want to offer you help.
Here’s the most important principal when choosing resources: You want to invest in great reference tools you will utilize over and over again for years to come.
The best way to build the ideal Logos library is to begin by thinking through categories and then selecting the top resources. Here are the six categories to prioritize, in no certain order:
What resources do I recommend in these categories? I’m glad you asked!
👉 My full list of recommended resources is listed conveniently on Logos.com!1 They are organized by category to make it easy find whatever you are looking for.
My recommended Logos resource list includes titles like :
Discounts are always happening with Logos. You can read about ongoing discounts here. Also, if you sign up for my newsletter I’ll keep you posted on special discounts and sales Logos is running on my favorite resources and any free books they are giving away.

Logos offers everything from academic and denominational packages to starter or other general packages. If you want help choosing a base package, read my Logos Buyer’s Guide.

]]>Memorize this: ‘Everything is necessary that he sends. Nothing can be necessary that he withholds.’ If it’s in your life, you need it, even if it’s bad. —Tony Reinke, Newton on the Christian Life. Resurfaced by Readwise
Don’t be deceived: God is not mocked. For whatever a person sows he will also reap, because the one who sows to his flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit. Let us not get tired of doing good, for we will reap at the proper time if we don’t give up. —Galatians 6:7–9 (CSB)
This is one of the most powerful sermons I have ever heard. It felt like I had never read Galatians 6:7-9 before. Every time I listen to Mason preach, I feel like he knows me.
Some of my notes:
One of my favorite Logos sales of the year is here! Get up to 50% off the best commentaries for every book of the Bible!
One my pro tips for anyone building a theological library is to avoid buying commentaries sets (unless there’s a massive discount) and instead buy the best commentary for a given book of the Bible. Logos is encouraging you to do this by giving you the opportunity to buy individual commentaries at a significant discount! This sale only happens once a year.
Subscribe to my Logos newsletter and I’ll keep you posted on free books, special sales, and share a training tip to help you get the most out of Logos.
